What is inq.’s Fair Usage Policy?

inq.’s Fair Usage Policy (“FUP”) is intended to ensure that as you enjoy our services, which are provided by a common infrastructure and network resources, you will not have unfair disruption of access and that the network remains protected. Some users may take a disproportionately greater share of the network resources and consequently, other users suffer a diminished experience.  We manage our shared network resources to determine excessive, unreasonable or fraudulent use which may impact the reliable operation of our network and/or the quality of our Services.

How does the Fair Usage Policy work with Unlimited Plans?

The Fair Usage Policy ( FUP )applies to Unlimited Package Offer for  “inq Home-Work”.As with all acceptable use policies, if you use more than a certain, predetermined or specific amount of data (Determined by the package you purchased) in a given timeframe, your line speed will slow down, in order to allow other users to access the network fairly.

Each Product offering has its own FUP threshold, and because we don’t all have the same data needs, we offer distinct packages with different thresholds and line speeds.

The limit of data before the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is applied is referred to as the Fair Usage Limit (FUL). Once a subscriber has reached the FUL thresholds, as detailed in the table, the available normal bandwidth speed will be reduced accordingly.

The service will then continue to be provided at the FUL rate limit and throttled to 1Mbps until the end of the month and will reset on the 1st day of the anniversary billing period.

Normal bandwidth speed will be reduced as per the table below and in line with our FUP and FUL.

If and when the Fair usage limit has been arrived at,  normal line speeds can be restored if a top-up/recharge of a minimum 65GB is purchased.

Unlimited Data Package Normal Bandwidth Speed (Mbps) Up To Fair Usage Limit Fair Usage Rate Limit
Inq Home-Work Lite 50 200GB 2Mbps
Inq Home-Work Basic 50 400GB 2Mbps
Inq Home-Work Pro 50 600GB 2Mbps

(Actual line speeds could vary from time to time due to a variety of reasons and are delivered on a “Best Effort” basis as availability and speed may be affected by occurrences beyond our control.)

Example:

If subscribed to inq Home-Work Pro where the Fair Usage Limit is 600GB. The assigned bandwidth allocation will allow for speeds up to 15Mbps up until 300GB is exhausted. Once the Fair Usage Limit is reached speeds will be slowed down to the Fair Usage Rate being 2Mbps in this case.
